After the Early Bird Invitational in Terre Haute was postponed due to a lot of rainfall on the course over the last week, the Charger Cross Country Teams were able to get into a different meet at Gibson Southern to open their season. The meet was a Hokum Karem meet and was a relay style event. There were no teams scores but athletes were paired up and then each athlete would run one mile then "tag up" with their partner so they could run a mile. Each athlete ran a total of two miles each. The top ten relay teams made the podium. Everyone had some great runs today and two of the Charger relay teams made the podium. Making the podium were Sadie Franklin and Indiana Hill finishing in 6th place and Emiley Riker, Audrey Whitehead, and Alyssa McCutchn finishing in 8th place. The Chargers will run next at Brown County on August 22nd. Charger Finishers and Times: Girls: Sadie Franklin and Indiana Hill (23:42 - 6th place) Emiley Riker, Audrey Whitehead and Alyssa McCutchan (23:56 - 8th place) Kylie Meyer and Gabby Hutchason (31:01 - 50th place) Boys: Taylor Russell and Jacob Harker (22:06 - 46th place)
