Today, our Pike Central Middle School Teams ran at Gibson Southern for the Pocket Athletic Conference. The girls placed fifth as a team out of nine teams scoring with a score of 108. These girls and boys did a great job and gave their all. Most of our runners were coming over the finish line and collapsing because they gave everything they had. Sadie Franklin placed in the top 5 with a second place finish with a Personal Record(PR) time of 11:32. Elliot Heeman placed 13th with a PR time of 12:36.5 barely snagging that place from Kaebri Yon who placed 14th with a time of 12:36.6, these two made the last stretch fun to watch as they battled each other. Next, we had Khloe Nixon placing 23rd with a time of 12:54.1. Our next two runners ran together most of the race until the end, and they pushed each other through, encouraging one another until the end. These runners were Mia Query who placed 64th with a time of 15:33, and Abigail Popp who placed 67th with a time of 16:08. All our runners did a great job today and though some didn’t PR liked they had hoped they still gave their all. We’ve had a great season and I can’t wait to come back next year and see how each and every one of them improves. We had two girls in the Open race, and they did a great job and both look great! Eastyn Knight's goal is to always catch the gator and it's fun to watch her. Today, Eastyn placed second in the open race with a time of 12:36. Emersyn Staake was our second girl in the open race and she is always ready to go and listens when told to serge or use the tangents. Emersyn placed 25th with a time of 14:27. Our two boys did a great job today as well, and though they didn’t PR they still worked hard to have the times they received today. They gave their all and made the finish count. Aiken Whitehead came in first for our boys placing 41st with a time of 12:36. Jase Cowan was our second boy to come across the finish line. Jase placed 61st with a time of 14:19, giving us a fun finish to watch when he kicked it in. These runners have run their hearts out all season and did a great job cheering their teammates on, pushing each other, and working to become better meet after meet. Though some of them didn’t PR today, they weren’t too far off their times and gave great effort, as coaches that is all we can ask for. Us as coaches couldn’t have asked for a better season and a great way to end our second year of coaching. We are truly blessed to be able to coach each and every one of these amazing runners.
