Pike Central Middle/High School Athletics

The Pike Central Lady Chargers Cross Country team advanced to the Regional today with a 4th place Sectional finish at Jasper. The top 5 teams and top 15 individuals from non-advancing teams qualified for the regional. Placing in the top 20 for the Chargers were Alyssa McCutchan (13th) and Kylee Weathers (17th). The team will compete in the Evansville Regional next Saturday at Angel Mounds. Although they gave a great effort, the boys team finished up their season today at the Sectional. The boys worked really hard this year and showed a lot of improvement over the season. Competing for the Chargers today were: Boys: Taylor Russell 53rd (20:24), Quintin McCormick 55th (20:42), Jacob Harker 60th (23:24) Girls: Alyssa McCutchan 13th (21:54), Kylee Weathers 17th (22:21), Emiley Riker 23rd (22:58), Kylie Meyer 31st (23:38), Audrey Whitehead 38th (24:21), Eva Cox 44th (24:58), Avery Adams 58th (27:24)
